bristol academy of live performing arts

Bristol Academy of Live Performing Arts (BALPA) opens its doors in September 2011, offering high quality, accredited arts training and exciting performance opportunities for the whole community. All courses are based at the Caedmon Complex, a state-of-the-art performing arts centre in the heart of Thornbury, and led by experienced musicians and dancers.

Performance Opportunities
At the end of each term there will be a show where you can perform what you have learnt to a local audience. On top of this there will be opportunities for performances at local events.

Individual Lessons
We are also able to offer individual lessons in guitar, bass, drums, vocals and dance. If you have something specific you need to work towards, or just want more in-depth tuition then these could be for you. Individual lessons are priced at £28 each and based at Caedmon Complex where you will have access to its state-of-theart facilities. For lessons at home please enquire.

BALPA Tutors
Trained to a high standard, the BALPA tutors aim to deliver the highest possible level of training. All our tutors are CRB checked and work to a strict child protection policy (a copy of which is available on request). As stated overleaf, BALPA will also run masterclasses from time to time with external tutors. Also you will have a chance to work with Inspire director Ray Goudie, who has been producing songs and working in the music industry for many years. His current musical ‘The Prodigals’ will be showing at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011.

Bursary Funding
Bursary funding is available for any of BALPA’s courses including working towards the Trinity Rockschool exams. To apply for a bursary please email info@balpauk.com.
